We collect only what's needed to run the app. Specifically:

• To create and secure your account, and let you log back in.
• To run the actual game mechanics: scoring, streaks, XP/leveling, daily challenges, and the Peak Brain Score / Brain Age calculations shown on your Progress screen.
• To power Leaderboard, Friends, and friend challenges.
• To send you local reminder notifications (e.g. streak reminders) — these are scheduled on your own device, not delivered through a third-party push service.
• To respond when you email us for support or a data request.

We do not use your data to train third-party AI models, and we do not sell or rent it to advertisers or data brokers.

3. What other players can see

Cortex has social features, so some information is visible to other users by design:

• Leaderboards show your display name, profile photo, and score to anyone who can view that leaderboard.
• Friends can see your profile name/photo and activity relevant to friend challenges once a friend request is accepted.

Your email address is never shown to other players — it's used only for authentication and account communication.

4. Third-party services we use

That's the only external service in the data path. No ad network, no analytics SDK, no third-party crash reporter is integrated into Cortex.

5. Where your data lives

Cortex runs on infrastructure we operate ourselves rather than a large third-party backend-as-a-service vendor. Your account and gameplay data are stored in a database we control, reached over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. We don't hand your data off to a third party for storage or processing beyond the Google Sign-In exchange described above.

6. Retention & deletion

We keep your account and gameplay history for as long as your account is active, so your streaks, stats, and progress stay intact between sessions.

You can delete your account yourself, any time, from Profile → Delete account in the app. Deleting is immediate and permanent — it removes your profile, gameplay history, streaks, friends, and leaderboard entries, and can't be undone. If you'd rather not use the in-app flow, email admin@hubiez.com from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you.

7. Notifications

Reminder notifications (like streak reminders) are scheduled locally on your device — we don't route them through a third-party push provider. You can turn them off at any time in your device's system notification settings for Cortex.

8. Children's privacy

Cortex is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has created an account or provided us information, contact admin@hubiez.com and we'll remove it.

9. Your choices

• Edit or replace your profile info — name, username, and photo — any time from Edit Profile.
• Sign out from Profile → Sign out, which also clears any linked Google session on that device.
• Turn off notifications in your device's system settings.
• Delete your account yourself from Profile → Delete account, or request a copy of your data by emailing admin@hubiez.com.

10. Security

Passwords are stored as salted hashes, not plain text. Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, so while we work to protect your information, we can't guarantee absolute security.

If Cortex's features change in a way that changes what we collect or how we use it — for example, adding real paid subscriptions or a new integration — we'll update this page and change the effective date at the top.

1. Accepting these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Cortex ("we," "us," "the app") governing your use of the Cortex mobile application. By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using Cortex, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

2. What Cortex is

Cortex is a brain-training game app: memory, focus, logic, math, reaction, spatial, word, and executive-function games, with scoring, streaks, XP/leveling, daily challenges, a leaderboard, and friends. Some games and features are gated behind Cortex Pro. Cortex is provided for entertainment and general cognitive engagement — see Section 8 for what that does and doesn't mean.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to create a Cortex account.
• You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials confidential.
• You're responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away at admin@hubiez.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
• One account per person. Accounts aren't transferable.

4. Acceptable use

When using Cortex, you agree not to:

• Cheat, exploit bugs, use automation/bots, or otherwise manipulate scores, streaks, or leaderboard rankings.
• Harass, impersonate, or abuse other players through Friends, challenges, or profile content.
• Upload a display name or profile photo that's offensive, infringing, or impersonates someone else.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the app or its backend beyond what's permitted by applicable law.
• Use the app in any way that violates applicable law.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate this section — see Termination.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of any profile photo or display name you provide. By adding it to Cortex, you give us a limited license to store and display it within the app — for example, on your profile and on leaderboards and to your friends — for as long as your account exists. We won't use it for anything outside operating the app (like advertising) without asking you first.

6. Cortex Pro

Cortex Pro unlocks the full game library and additional features. As of this writing, Cortex Pro is offered as a free trial with no real payment collected through the app. If paid Cortex Pro subscriptions are introduced, the price, billing frequency, and cancellation terms will be shown to you before you're charged, and payments will be handled by a payment processor whose own terms will apply to that transaction. This section will be updated when that happens.

7. Ownership

Cortex — its games, design, branding, and underlying code — belongs to us or our licensors. These Terms don't grant you any rights to that beyond using the app as intended for personal, non-commercial enjoyment.

Cortex is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law.

10. Termination

You can stop using Cortex at any time and delete your account yourself from Profile → Delete account in the app, or by emailing admin@hubiez.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate Acceptable Use or these Terms generally, with notice where reasonably possible.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Cortex's features change — most notably if real paid subscriptions launch. We'll update the effective date at the top of this page when we do. Continuing to use Cortex after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local law requires otherwise.
